Getting a Little Distance

Watched the film Quadrophenia last night. It was good to see it again. Quadrophenia made me want to watch EasyRider, so I did.

My bank has stollen 75 quid off of me, criminals !!!

I continue to learn japanese adjectives, and hang about in Second Life. Good old Boldy was in Second Life. I think I have known him almost one year, he showed me a picture of what he looks like in real life, LMAO !!!! Hahahaha!!! just Joking Boldy, it's good to be able to put a face to the Sl character.

I joined the Facebook group for the up and coming chaos computer congress and HAR2009. It's suprising the number of people you find on Facebook. People you wouldn't think would be on there, and people you didn't want on there.

Every street I walk has a memory, sometimes good but mostly just bad, I should find a new places to walk...

T2 Conference in Helsinki

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

Managed to get up early today. I'm so lazy !!! I use to get-up at 5 am everyday for work.

Had coffee, looked in Borders, cleaned the Buddhist Centre, eat some gluten free beetroot chocolate cake Sudakani's partner had made(it was good.) After reading some of a book about Japanese hand gestures I started to tell someone what I had learnt, and quickly realised how stupid it made me look. It mentioned stuff like, if you drag a finger tip from your ear to your chin it's supposed to mean something about Yakuza and some other crap about Kawaii.

Walked around abit putting up posters in shop windows, asked about a job in a hotel. For some reason I found it highly amusing walking out of a hotel reception, with a job application form.

It started to rain, so I stood in the entrance of a sports centre for half an hour, waiting for it to go away. Got wet, stood in a cinema watching trailers for half an hour.

Went home on the bus and bought some chips to eat. Looked through a book about computers from the 80s. Back in the 1980s my friend and I use to be crazy about micro computers. For my birthday he bought me this book entitles 'The Joy of Computers' his name was Darren Joy.. Hahah!!! I still love that book. OFFS!!! Dr K has the third edition of 'The Hackers Handbook' out..enough all ready...shut the fuck-up you whore!!!

All of the Japan Foundation's 'Let's Learn japanese Basic' can be found on Pirate Bay, it needs more people to seed it.
I might start going to Ju-Jitsu classes.

Japanda

I heard a Japanese person the other day say in Second Life they come from 'Japanda'
...nevermind, I thought it was funny : P

Haven't been doing anything 'cept watch season five of 'The Wire' and watching the Japan Foundation programmes on VEOH..

I went for an early morning run, at 3 AM. Outside there was a slight wind and a bright full moon. Unsurprisingly two police cars drove past me, both didn't even slow down. I ran towards the police station and past the two cop cars just as they were exiting their vehicles. I don't think they even looked at me.. HOORAH!!! They looked busy and something must have been going down because of the two plastic evidence bags they were carrying. OH!! I miss the days when you could listen-in on the police radio..

Whirly-Bird to Mother Goose, come in Mother Goose!!!

I'm so unhealthy at the moment, must shape-up!!!

The local bus service has been re-vamped. they're making it totally impossible for people to travel anywhere sensibly. There is some sort of competition between the council run buses, and the local Sanders bus company, fare price rises in order to keep a set standard, times of service change to times that make no sense.

I had to take the bus to Cromer first, then wait for the bus to Norwich. I'm paying extra for this, so I decide to spend some time on the beach and drink coffee in the Rocket cafe.

In Norwich I drank coffe in the Forum and read about Flash Application XSS exploits. I thought I saw someone using a ASUS EEE pc, but no, this is Norwich things like that just don't happen. I went into the libruary to see if they had any books on Actionscript 3, and came out with a book on CISA information systems auditor.

I wanted something to eat before my martial arts class, I thought I would try a place that I hadn't been to before ' Baba Ghanoush.' There was no-one else there, the staff were unfriendly, the food overpriced, the music terrible. I guess I was thinking it would be good because it use to be a vegetarin place. The new people there aren't the same. What a rip-off!!! FAKE FAKE FAKE!!!

I went to the noodle internet place. There was a guy with a dirty sleeping bag slung over his shoulders. He said something about noodles, so I guess he meant, can you buy me some noodles..please. I listened to what he had to say; then told him I haven't got much money. Then for some stupid reason ( I blame watching too much NBO ' The Wire' from piratebay) I bought two boxes of noodles and gave 'dirty sleeping bag man' one of them.

After some food I sat on a bench staring at people, with my Bo staff slung over my shoulder..

Went to my lesson; at first it didn't look like anyone was going to show-up. In the end there was six of us.

The woman in the Oriental centre is really fucking rude. She never smiles, and made me pay one pound, and sign a members book. nobody told me about having to do this before. So today I was totally fucking ripped-off left right a centre.

I think if I just had a room with heating, and a decent broadband connection, that's all I want out of life.

Things are starting to happen. More post arrived today from the university inviting me to an induction day, for mature students. Also, I sent an email accepting the offer of accommodation at Constable Terrace. All pretty exciting stuff.

I've been listening to the 'Last Hope' talks and through listening to Bicycle Marks talk I been looking at the following_
http://ryanishungry.com

I also watched the film 'The Real Dirt on Farmer John'. Which is a documentary about the struggle of John Peterson, a farmer who grew-up in rural illinois. After his farther's death John takes over the running of the family farm whilst attending local college. Being the 1970's John's friends from college hang-out with him on the farm; bringing about a community of artists and philosophers. Soon the local farming community are gossiping about John's exploits, and trouble ensues.

The documentary, is full of old farm and family footage from yesteryear. John the unconventional farmer, falls into debt, and watches as farms around him are sold; struggling he tries on and off to make things work. Finally the sollution today exists in the form of 'Community Support Agriculture'. A socio-economic model of food production, that aims to increase the quality of the food and the care given to the land.

This film isn't just a tale about how today's farmers find it hard to produce good organic food. But about John's struggles in life, being someone different to the usual parameters of acceptability. His search for a way of life that is honest and worth living.

Heh, I went to water the garden today for my parents(who are away camping in Devon.) I think I should be doing it more often as one of the tomatoes is looking shrivelled...OOppss!!

No Soup for You !!!!

2600 have uploaded the audio talks from this years conference 'The Last Hope' :-
Link: Audio, The Last Hope
Here's something interesting, malware on mobile devices for you:-
Link: Flexispy Demo
A new addition of Hakin9 arrived through the door today (they really should use packaging where the postman/person can't read headlines such as "VOIP research exploit kit.") It arrived along with a letter from the UEA. I was scared to open the letter, in case it told me that my place at University was fake_LOL

At least Hackin9 is turning me into a script kid, which is only slightly better than clueless.. ok now for a game of PACMAN on facebook FUCK YEAH !!!

I continue to learn Japanese Kana I'm nearly done with the Hirigana, which most people learn in a week; for me it took a month. Now all I got to do is actually know what the words mean. I learnt a nice word from a Japanese person on Second Life, who ran around chasing people it was ' Chugokku oh crap I forgot..maybe I will remember later(Edit: I asked a friend it was 'Onigokko', heh, like you care : P )

Woke up late this morning to the doorbell ringing. Ignoring the doorbell I tried to get back to the dream I was having; it was as usual a strange one. I fell asleep last night to one of the audio streams from freebuddhistaudio.com The dream was that I was back at public school listening to a schoolboy speak about Hitler. Though what I was hearing was the MP3 on my computer.

I had my patio door left open and could hear the latch being lifted on the garden gate. The person who was ringing the door bell had decided to take a look around. I just lay pretending to be asleep, waiting to see what they were going to do. They must have heard the conversation from my computer as they returned to the door and continued to press the bell.

Finally I got-up to answer the door. There was a man with a clipboard, his car parked half on the pavement said 'Loft Installation.' I said morning and struggled to keep my eyes open. It turns out he had been given the wrong address, he said sorry to bother me and left.

I haven't left the house for almost four days now, I've got little money and even less food. I spent the rest of the day and night watching the film KungFu Panda and going to scripting lessons in Second Life...

Monkey Boy to the Rescue

Travelled to Cromer to collect some free money... On the bus I sat listening to 'System of a Down' and wishing I had cake to eat.

just recently I've been trying to research work within the Norwich area, using the library's FAME (financial analysis made easy ) database. It is completely impossible without having pre-booked a computer. All the computers are used by fools watching skate videos and playing flash media games. The system only gives you a 20 minute time slot. All this, along with the librarian having to log you in, makes it very inefficient. I had to get the Librarian to kick someone off of the computer I was using as I was still logged in. I felt kinda bad about that.

Walking around Cromer this old guy's hat blew off in the wind, falling down a cliff... well more of a steep embankment. I jumped to the rescue, handing him my bag I leaped over the edge like a monkey, got the hat, and climbed back to where everyone must have been thinking I was a great guy. errr.. they said thanks anyhow..

I've been doing quite well at being a gentle person recently_go me!!

Mr Uchi's weekend...

I've been playing with some video editing. It's a very poor unprofessional effort. And the file size was massive and still is even after some compression. I wish it was better, and if anyone has good ideas about video compression; that would be cool.

THIS IS JUST A PREVIEW, IF YOU WANT TO WATCH YOU HAVE TO USE THE VEOH INTERFACE :( sorry!!! ( Disclaimer:_ watching this may bore you to death )

DarkSide 'till I Die...

The Last Hope Conference started today in New York city. I'm not there.I've been walking around Norwich pretending that I am, obviously that's not going to work. The conference is for three days so if it's not too late you might want to listen in on 'Radio Statler' a live stream from the conference at Hotel Pennsylvania.( Radio Statler )

I was pleased to read during my morning coffee an article in the Guardian newspaper, about user updates to the firewall 'ZoneAlarm' to patch a recently discovered design flaw in DNS (Domain Name Server), of course it is all thanks to Dan Kaminsky that people even know about this. There was even a link to his website Doxpara.com

I walked to the University again today to try make my formal application to the Computer Science course. There were lots of Graduate students in their degree gowns floating about campus. It was a wasted journey.

I did some meditation practice today and it helped me understand that my previous plan of telling everyone I meet to Fuck Off was not a good one. Why the hell is everyone saying I want to go to Japan and, "I'm interested in the culture"...wtf ?

I forgot to look for a part-time job..

Coming out of the Buddhist Centre I was still in a mild daze, when I heard someone call my voice. I recognized the face but I could remember how I knew the person. I assumed it was someone I had worked with previously. He started to talk about motorbikes..heh, I suddenly remembered he was the other guy I did my Motorcycle CBT with. It's so strange that he still knew my name after meeting for like one day in the beginning of the year....Heheh!!

WIMAX promises longer range and greater bandwidth at a lower cost. It is used to deliver last-mile wireless broadband access as an alternative to wired broadband such as cable or DSL. The take-up of WIMAX subscribes seem to be coming from Asia Pacific countries with Europe as always lagging behind. Countries like Japan and South Korea seems to be leading the WIMAX way. March 2008 saw 'UQ Communications', a new Japanese mobile WIMAX service provider, announce it intended to deliver a nationwide comercial WIMAx service by 2009. A trial service is to be set in February 2009. They predict that 90 percent of the population will be covered by 2012. Japanese consumers should be able to enjoy high speed 20 Mbit/s from the computer or mobile device whilst on the move.

In the UK no date has been set for 2.5Ghz auction, yet alone a defined process, making it impossible for UK service providers to plot a next generation wireless service.

Taken from July 2008 'Land Mobile'.

Radiometrix KTX2-433 miniature UHF FM data transmitter module has onboard code-hopping an encoder designed to provide secure wireless when used with the KRX receiver decoder. Operating at 315 Mhz, 433.92Mhz or 434.42Mhz the modules provides engineers with a usable range of upto 75 metres in-building and 300m over open ground.

Each modules is pre-programmed and unique :D The 32-bit encryption creates more than four billion hop-codes with 15 user-defined control lines.

I bought my train tickets for Wolverhampton tomorrow, home to Knife crime.

Wont You Tell Me Your Name

I bumped into Alex, who I haven't seen for sometime. Alex was nice enough to buy me a coffee in Starbucks as I didn't have any money. He asked me advice on what to do about going bald. I had to tell him straight, there's only one thing you can do; shave your head like a Neo-Nazi and grow a big beard, then sit-back and wait for the love to come rolling in. Though it would work well with him, he's very well read and highly intelligent. I felt a bit of a dork because I didn't have much to say for myself and I wanted to show Alex something to do with my laptop, which failed due to low battery charge. After seeing Alex I felt slightly shaken from my apathy which can only be a good thing. He's one of the good guys, very pleasant to speak with.

Cleaned the bogs at the Buddhist centre. I always offer to do the bogs because it's sounds like the worst task that needs to be done. It's like a form of self imposed punishment.

Something went wrong on my last attempt at food shopping. Last time I went to the local supermarket I thought I had picked-up the cheapest bag of potatoes. Somehow I picked the wrong bag and payed way more than I expected, what made things worse was the words, 'product of Israel'. Not interesting...No really, Not interesting.

Walking home I saw Mark waiting to pick-up passengers. We had a good talk, he's still having trouble with his car. We haven't been to Narc for over a month now.

It started to rain ..hard. I walked home looking like a drowned rat... So funny, I walked past the dude who always stands outside his art gallery. He was standing out of the rain under a canopy, dressed smartly in his pristine white suit sipping tea from a small cup and saucer. He watched me as I trundled past in the rain, dripping wet. DRUDGE SQUAD!!! YAY !!!

The Y-Files

As soon as I arrived in Norwich I headed for the Cathedral, I had some thinking to do. I'm guessing it was the end of school term, because there seemed to be kids from Norwich school, school shirts signed in marker pen by fellow class mates.

Inside the cathedral I was greeted by this guy who I hadn't seen since I use to goto the Sunday service. He seems to be a gentle kind man. He said hello and commented on the nice weather outside.

On leaving the cathedral, and walking past some shops behind an old couple. This delivery guy comes out of a shop doorway and nearly hits the old couple in the head with a tray full of bread loafs. Then while he's walking beside me the tray is hitting me on the arm and he's trying to push past. I was very tempted to send him flying. I just gave him a friendly shove, I wish it could have been with my index finger into his eye socket. I guess the right thing to do would have just let him pass.

I went to Friday meditation class, we discussed 'impermanence.' I have some thoughts on the subject, but no real conclusions. We did mindfulness of breathing meditation then I legged-it out the door to catch the bus to the UEA.

It was Open day at the University. I made my way to the Hive, past a large crowd who were sitting on steps watching a band playing Latin dance music. I went to registration and got myself a free pen and pencil. MWAhahah!!! BONUS. free stuff. I then made my way to the lecture theatre to listen to a talk on the computer science department. There was some other older people there too, but I think they were dads of prospective students...hehe.OMFG

After the talk, in a small group we went to see some project demonstrations. The fist project was by a PHD student who had been working on recognition of lip movement. Calculations were made of people's lip movement in order to try guess what language they were speaking. When you think about it for some time, you will realise what a mammoth task he has set himself..LOL (problems with different camera angles, and people with beards etc... He mentioned during his work some of the test subjects walked-out on him after he told them what the project was. He claims that it could be used for information terminals in tourist industry. It's so obviously a racist project.

Next we saw a demonstration of robotics using lego. This is supposed to teach programming of collision detection n'stuff. It was crap. I asked some questions about reverse engineering and micro controllers, my questions were dodged.

In the computer graphics lab we had a demonstration of past student projects on some game design. The games where nice and retro :)) Then we saw some work that had been done with the history department in collaboration, to recreate Norwich from the past using old maps. There was also some work they had been payed to do by the council and by local building developers. I leant my pen to a guy to write down this URL: Urban Modelling Group He stole my free pen : /

I then sat in the village area on campus drinking Ubuntu Cola pretending to be a student =P

Will you come to the moving reflection with me?

Buggered about on Sl, Boldy and Kyoshi came with me to watch the old black and white version of, 'Little Shop of Horrors.' Boldy lasted for about 15-20 minutes because he's in Holland and an Hour ahead of time than me, and it was late. Mini about 30-40, she's in Ohio. I watched the whole film, but by the end I had a headache. Stream media in second Life is awesome..

Don't Cry over Spilt Milk

Today the local East Anglia news, reported, that the 110 B-61 Nuclear Warheads housed at RAF Lakenheath, have been removed. The base though called 'RAF' has been operated by the United State's Air Force for 50 years.

Quacked it

Spent all day downloading stuff. Bicycle Mark recommended DL an episode of Morgan Spurlock's 30 Days tv series. So I'm blaming him *joke* The episode was about a huntsmen spending 30 days with a family of animal rights activists. Of course this is tv with an agenda, though, being slightly paranoid I always wonder if the supposed bad guy is in on the programmes overall message.

I really enjoy reading Bicycle Marks blogg, the only reason I read it is because it's something a friend recommended. The way Mark questions everything and his writing skill is fantastic. I know that's a little creepy but I wish I could take the time to write more eloquently. And really the only reason I write this blogg, is to, try improve on my bad English grammar.

Finally I Kracked my AP with 556745 IVs collected...

I'm using 64-bit WEP ( Wireless Encryption Protocol) it's a protocol that's widely known to be easily broken. It uses an RC4 stream cipher and a checksum of CRC-32.

the IVs ( Initialization Vectors ) are what you need to capture wirelessly in order to quack WEP. It's a 3 byte vector attached to each packet. The IVs are used by the client to authenticate to the AP. Hence capturing as many IVs as possible increases the ability to calculate the Acess Points wireless key.

For a 64-bit WEP key you need about 250,000 IV's. For a 128-bit WEP key 1,500,000.

As of March 13 2006 the standard Wireless Encryption used has been WPA2 ( WI-FI Protected Access ) which maybe used in two different modes. One being, distribute a different key to each user the other a PSK ( pre-shared key.) PSK key consists of 8-63 ASCII characters. WPA also uses RC4 stream ciphering consisting of 128 bit key and a 64-bit IV. WPA prevents replay attacks ( resending known information ) by the use of MIC (Message Integrity Code) by checking for any alterations to the payload.

You do the Math..

Trouser Modifications

Didn't make it in time for meditation class. The thing is, it's almost impossible to meditate properly when people have pissed you off. I find it almost impossible to stay focussed, and I'm becoming less generous everyday.

I was drinking overpriced coffee as usual in the Forum coffee bar today. Two old men sat in the chairs close to me. Seeing that their table had a tray full of cups and plates, one of the men picked the tray up and dumped it onto the table where I was sitting.

I found a £10 book token in my wallet. I wasn't really sure what I could get for ten UK pounds in the way of books. You can buy Hiragana text books for about £8. in the end I bought the BBC Japanese CDs for £15

Thought I would go check-out the canoeing at Whitlingham Outdoor education Centre. After a 20 minute walk out of Norwich I was walking down the small country road towards the centre. On the road I spotted what looked to be a small snake ( it's rare to see snakes in England as they bugger off as soon as they sense you.) Of course it was squashed flat against the road, as a car had run it over.

Down the track there were lots of Dragonfly which is meant to be a sign of good clean water. I stopped by the old Rowing Club sheds and took a moment to sit in the sun listening to the sound of the boats' sails clanging; one of my favourite sounds.

I found Whitlingham Outdoor Education Centre. It was pretty impressive, I took some time to sit on the wooden steps to watch the dinghy sailing. When I got-up I heard a ripping sound. I felt behind myself to find a large tear in my trousers exposing my bum cheeks. At this moment one of the staff came-over to ask if I wanted one of their brochures. I took a brochure and asked a few questions about sailing courses hoping he hadn't noticed the tear. In the end I walked back into the city with my fleece tied around my waist.

Finally after an age of trying I managed to get airodump-ng to work properly..YAY!!!

Formal dress Code

Eye Spy magazine has an article about 'Feudal Intelligence Gathering.' The article was two pages long and told me that when choosing a legend it should be convincing, and that Japanese wandering priests were called Komuso, and wore baskets on their heads. I learnt nothing new from reading this and I am down by £3.75

Whilst walking through a car park I heard a man speaking to a woman sat in her car. He spoke to her in a way that would have been shouting if they hadn't been in public. " Fucking stop it will you! I care for you." He was being aggressive and in her face. I continued walking and stop out of sight to make sure things were going to be ok. Other people had noticed in the car park, and were also hanging about. After five minutes nothing bad happened so I left to goto Yoga class.

Did the usual intensive stretch exercises and at one point my teacher tried to get us to stand on our heads!! Yeah right!! The class went well. There is always a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Blade took the Norwich Bujinkan Tai-jutsu Class, I like Blade he seems to be a genuinely nice chap and I enjoyed his teaching. Unfortunately, as you know from reading this blogg I find it hard to like most people, but things have been alittle better of late.

Three things now, about Norwich Bujinkan Class have bothered me. Two of which have originated from one persons attitude. Today it was the fact that I took my jacket and belt off and wore just a t-shirt. Blade was good about it, he wouldn't have said anything apart from a certain person whispering in his ear. The lessons are much more formal than Paul Harpers, and alot of bowing goes on. Is this a good thing ? I'm not so sure. At the end of the lesson they all arranged to meet in the Glasshouse for as they put it, a piss-up.

Nice Tighty Whities, nerd!

I missed my first bus, made it into town to watch the bus pull away from the bus stop. The next bus took the long scenic route. It was two hours ten minutes to Norwich and there were lots of old people.

Helped clean at the Buddhist centre, and bought a new book...

At night I watched the whole series of The Inbetweeners' on 4OD. I'm not it's target audience but thought it was good. Kinda like an updateD Adrian Mole.

Mucked about on Second Life with some friends.

Something's Snapped

A couple of weeks ago I dropped my laptop. Ever since, the display hasn't been working. Today I took my little laptop apart piece by piece and finally found one of the wires connecting the motherboard to the screen had snapped. I guess it must have got caught-up with the laptop hinge. I resoldered the wire and also removed the built-in 802.11 G mini pci card ( I never use it.)

I also did some practice in the garden using my bokken. Not interesting but true.

Hope people in japan are ok... I've been trying to follow what little news there is. Nine people have died.

STS-124

I watched Nasa tv all of today. The Space shuttle Discovery returned today after it's mission to deliver the latest International Space Station's construction 'Kibo', the largest part of a Japanese pressurized Laboratory module also known as 'hope'.

If Al Gore was to start a hippie dance group, it would be called, 'Al Gore Rhythms' !!!

I just read Bicycle Marks blogg about his recent visit to the killing fields of Cambodia... It has made me think seriously about going to London to demonstrate against George Bush's visit, if only I had the money to get there.

The other day I travelled into Norwich to collect some laptop memory. While I was waiting for the bus home I noticed just how bad my walking boots had gotten. Pfff!! I forgot about the bus and went to the outdoor shop 'Cotswolds'. I hate buying new shoes, I never see anything I like, but settled for a a pair made from pig skin. I feel so guilty buying pig skin, and the leather smell permeates my bedroom reminding me,making me feel ill.

I went to eat noodles at the chinese internet place. There was an old guy with walking stick asking where the toilets were. He was told it was upstairs. Noticing he would have difficulty I offered to help him, but he said he didn't want help. About twenty minutes latter he came back down the steps sitting on his arse. I got-up and tried to help. The woman behind the counter seeing this came rushing-over pretending to give a fuck.

Walking through Anglia Square I noticed my old electronics tutor Fred Wheeler. As I walked past Fred he was crouching down messing with some bags. I called Fred, but he didn't look-up..I called again and still no reply. I decided he was ignoring me so I carried on my merry way..

I'm now waiting for the bus again, and notice and friendly asian guy I use to work with. He is now a bus driver ( Hahaha!!! ok, so I speak to alot of bus drivers :) ). I stood chatting to him about meditation when this other rodent face looking bus worker starts grappling with him. At first I thought ..ok, this is what they do, it's a joke. Then after about half a minute I start to think maybe there is more to this than meets the eye. Eventually they stop, but the gang of school children err... sorry bus drivers take his baseball cap and start throwing it around. I think this guy has had to put-up with this shit for four years without complaint.

Damn you marketing people...why the hell can't I go anywhere and not have to hear the song Hotel California and have people try and get me to drink Pimms No1.... and why the fuck has clothing with Japanese kana become fashionable...allright maybe the kana stuff is ok.

Your Wet!!!

Ill prepared and wearing dirty walking boots with holes in, I went for the interview at UEA. It has rained all day today and my feet were soaking.

I was given a tour of campus by a girl in her third year of Psychosocial Sciences. I remember having to act interested because- of course..I've already seen all places at the University, and there wasn't anything else new to be seen. Bless...

I wasn't happy with the interview. And from the comments made I'm not confident I will get a place. I have to go on Monday and present photocopies of some exam certificates. OK ..what the fuck is plan B going to be :(

Tear it up!!

Caught the bus to Norwich complete with Bo staff... All of the journey was spent talking to an old lady about how rubbish England is. Towards the end of the journey she had told me that all criminals should be hung and there are too many immigrants. What was odd was that she had tears coming from her eyes. Not that she was crying..but like her eyes were malfunctioning. Don't think I said anything to upset her.

Walked around the city drinking coffee waiting for my Yoga and martial art class to begin.

I went into Holt chip shop to ask 'Chipshop Martin' why he doesn't go to Bujinkan Dojo any longer(I was told it was because he had a baby.) He told me his brother got in trouble with the police for fighting and was told he couldn't train any longer. He is now a kickboxer.

Good Call

The weeks camping in Devon was fun and interesting, in respect to the fact that it rained everyday.

On arriving at the camp site the first thing I noticed was a young boy wearing a t-shirt with the Bujinkan Kanji..Hooorah!!!

Situated near to the coast with a fantastic landscape view, we set-up camp in gusty storm force winds. It was just good to be with family visiting various places within the local area. My father grew-up in Plymouth during the Second world war and was able to give some interesting history of the area. We visited the sailing town of Salcombe and the beach at Hope Cove.

I woke-up today to the sound of the telephone ringing. Expecting bad news(the bank) I answered and was surprised to find it was the University admissions office. They arranged a meeting for me for this Friday.

Ian Curtis

Went to see the film ' Joy Division' today. It was very good and well worth seeing. I was kinda surprised to find I wasn't the only person there. Though the cinema was small there was about eight or nine other people.

The Benn and jerrys has dissappeared from the Chavafields shopping mall...damnn-it. That was the only thing worth going to, in the whole sick minded hell hole, that is Chavfields. Though I spent some time in Borders reading a book on Japanese street slang. The book said chinchin but I have it on good authority that the word is chinpo... you decide.

while sitting in the Forum having coffee I realised there was two youngish looking men in suits talking to a woman, and maybe her son. They seemed to be talking about religion. The woman was saying to them, " I wish I had your faith."

Before my martial Art lesson I ate some noodles at the chinese internet place, then went for a wonder. Down near the cathedral Riverside walk there was some biker dude shouting at people. He seemed a bit pissed off and I noticed he had scared some of the other people. As I walked past I asked if he was ok. He just smiled and said he was a little stoned. We laughed and I carried on my walk.

There is a new Japanese BBQ restaurant called, 'Sakura'. The friendly lady saw me looking, and came out to give me their menu. I said domo arigatou and she laughed replying arigatou.

I didn't go to Yoga this week due to financial reasons. But in Bujinkan lesson we did some sword work.

I got home to find my dad has changed our internet provider. He was charged 50 quid for some muppet calling himself an engineer to install the router. As I suspected I can now get Bicycle Marks website.. maybe Orange have blocked him.. I'm now using BT home Hub..

Off to Devon camping for a week tomorrow....

Beard Bother

Got the clippers out and had a go at looking less like a tramp. After doing the best that I could I went to the Doctor's surgery in Kelling.

I thought I might start easing myself back into some running again by doing a combination of running and walking. I find that by keeping your shoulders high you can fill your lungs with air better.

Passing Holt railway I noticed a group of young school children. They had all dressed in 1940's style clothing with gas mask boxes slung over their shoulders. Every so often people in Holt dress like 1940's and relive the wartime. It's mainly because of the steam train and the old war museum and lots of old people.

At the doctors I had arranged an appointment for 2:45. Since it would be some time before then, I walked/ran back into Holt stopping on the way to look at the steam trains and an old style double decker bus. As I was leaving, to continue on, I noticed a air raid siren...I didn't, but it was tempting.

I bought cake and pizza from Byfords, and I'm afraid I started to lose it with people again after someone clipped me with a wing mirror from their 4x4. At home I watched some youtube clips from 'Press Gang'. Press Gang was a shite kids television programme from back in the 80s. The character spike in the clip says, " it's nice to be smart, but smart to be nice." I'm not very smart.

After tea and cake I ran back to the surgery then back to listen to Scott Lockman's podcast about his adventures in Second Life.

Gave mark a call just to catch-up. Haven't been to Narc for a few weeks. He's been having some trouble with his car and he and his family have had to start using the bus. Narc have planned an camp event for 7 th 8th June called 'Radio Active Weekend'. It's billed as:

NARC Radio Active weekend brings all together with informal workshops and demonstrations of all aspects of radio & electronics in a large modern building and 2 field day stations close by (one designed for beginners in contesting) with parking and easy access to full facilities throughout the weekend.

Wesak

I woke to the sound of a seagull outside my window. Stephan, as Chi-chan my friend's wife would say, was warning me that I had twenty minutes to have a shower and catch the bus.

Hanging around outside the shop 'Borders', waiting for them to open, some bloke started to chat to me. He said he was looking for work, and he had just that day finished a two year probation order. I continued to speak with him and began to realise I was giving away personal information way too easily. I wish I could keep my mouth shut sometimes.

Not many people turned-up to clean the Buddhist centre today. And at first it was just me and Suddakani. Though Julian arrived latter. After the usual cleaning and cups of tea, I decided I would return for six o'clock for the Wesak Pujah.

I had a really good lunch at the Greenhouse. I must have timed it just right, as at the end of lunch time my plate was filled with tasty food. I also had tea and a Bakewell tart. I bought an copy of Corporate watch for two squids.

After wondering around for quite some considerable time, I returned to the Buddhist centre for my first ever Pujrah. Wesak is an important date in the Buddhist's calender. I'm told it is to celebrate the Buddha's birth, Enlightenment and Nirvana.

Quite a few people I hadn't met before arrived. Inside the shrine room there was just enough space. The shrine was decorated with yellow flowers, yellow being the colour for Wesak festival..I guess. I knelt listening to the readings and the chanting. It was certainly different and interesting and lasted about one and a half hours. There was also about twenty minutes of 'Mindfulness of Breathing meditation'....Awesome....

After arriving back at home and switching on my PC. I did a netstat -a -b to check for a listening sql port. Only to discover a process running called Kservice.exe. I discovered this is a rather cheeky download sharing service installed by the BBC iplayer.

The Destroyer

After a relaxing coffee, soaking up the sun on Cromer sea front. Me and my 6ft Bo staff, travelled to Norwich. Everytime I'm in the street with my Bo people are always asking, what is it ?

I must be crazy. For some reason I decided to take the Yoga lesson at the OAC. The teacher was very friendly. There was three other males including teacher, ten other females. The exercise was intense and I like to think they didn't hold back for the noob. It was one and half hour of sweat and stretching. Rather predictably I let out a rather large fart LOL lucky enough I didn't give a fuck..and nobody was phased.

Then after Yoga I took the two hour Bujinkan lesson. We practiced some rolls and punching. At the end I said to someone," I'm going to kill tomorrow!!!" I got the idea they thought I was literally going to kill.

Later I will be finding it hard to walk..Feel the burn!!

Allow/Deny..Deny/allow

I cleaned the bogs at the Buddhist centre. Someone left a massive skid mark in the bowl, which I found kinnda funny. :/

Didn't do much as usual; reading about Apache security methods, drinking coffee and eating croissants and trying not to lose it with people.

I've been listening to Rush and System of a Down on the Ipod that way I don't have to hear what other twats are saying...

I plugged the words 'I'm fucked' into the google search engine. Which harvested some interesting result..

Ozric Tentacles

I watched the first three episodes to Monkey Magic a 80's television programme I use to watch as a kid. I always remember the character Pigsy making me feel ill and putting me off my dinner. I also watched a documentary about Gandhi and the shortened version of 2001 Space Odyssey, which reminded me of a band I use to 'Ozric Tentacles.'

Pity the Fool

I turned 35 today. To celebrate I went to meditation class. Coded a PHP mailing list. And ate cake and Chinese takeaway.

Somebody tried to start a fight with me.

I had planned to go to the gym or beach and watch the film 'IN BRUGES' at Cinema City.

You do the Math...

Am I wasting my time? Yes...

I was late for the early train to Ely by two minutes. Running into the station , the departure's monitor was missing from its place on the platform.

I planned on listening to the German Language recordings on my Ipod, but strangely enough there was a young German couple seated next to me for most of the journey. I tried to understand their conversation. On arriving at Ely I bought early morning coffee and waited for the train for Birmingham.

I was feeling ill by the time I arrived in Birmingham. I headed straight to a shop to buy bottled water and Headache Pills. I followed the familiar landmarks to the Menzies Hotel. A sad but true fact was, I knew that I was headed the right direction when I saw the Spearmint Rhino Club. For some reason I remember walking past there last year.

Paid five pounds for Brumcon. Savvy tried to sell me a Brumcon T-shirt. Paid for Hotel room. Went to room for wash. had half an hour to kill before the conference started so went to shops. What was odd was that the woman behind the counter noticed I had lots of loose change and wanted to exchange it. We stood there a few minutes counting loose change.

Sat at the back of Brumcon, the first talk was by Foxwhisper. I can't stand these talks and articles in magazines defining a hacker. But Foxwhisper did bring a interesting perspective into the frame on having a criminal record and trying to find work as a Pentester.

McFly arrived with the other German hackers wearing his dark shades. Someone who sat next to me began to make conversation. I managed to find-out he was working as an Pentester. I guessed the company he was working for...QineticQ. Yes, the very same company that keeps popping into the limelight every so often.

During the break I went to the bar, which on the bad side had a large tv screen showing football, and sold small bottles of orange juice for £1.50. Though the good thing was that there was a cute Asian girl tending the bar. My tv-bgone battery had died. Otherwise that tv would have definetly got it.

During the first break a wedding party arrived outside the hotel complete with Bagpipes player. There was a bit of confusion when one of the Germans not being able to see out the window thought the bagpipes tune was somebodies mobile phone. Reload's wife and a few others peered out the window trying to get on the wedding video.

Later a guy called Les played some live electronic music. It was good but I took the opportunity to go to my hotel room and get my laptop. When I returned les was still playing. Most people where chatting and laughing, I think Les got the idea that people weren't interested, my theory was backed-up after reading his blog entry here. Les said The Better...

Towards the end McFly said a bit about the 'Chaos Computer Club.' He mentioned that the 'CCC' had recently published the fingerprints of one of the German Interior ministers. I started to clap, but I soon stopped after I realised I was the only person. Reload mentioned that they are trying to organized a larger conference like the CCC in 2010.

I left to go eat in a Kebab shop. I had a large pizza and Pepsi for under £5. I then went for a long walk. It's Saturday night so every so often twats in pink Limos, drove past cheering out of the car window. If they had given prior warning I would have arranged for a pole with some rusty nails to scratch their faces off.

I walked past all the club goers to the centre of Birmingham. A stage had been setup for the Birmingham Dance Festival. It had drawn a large crowd. Ignoring the crowd I continued on trying to find the Chinese quarter. During my search I was approached my a girl saying she was homeless.

After I made it back to the hotel I watched some telly and fell asleep. The girl who asked me for money had reminded me of some one in my past, I cared about, I couldn't help thinking I could have done better to help her.

At around four in the morning I was thirsty and decided to go to the shop for drink. Down in the Hotel lobby their were police questioning a woman about an attack. At the shop there was a young guy arguing with the shop keepers. They were arguing about using the phone. When I left the shop someone called out hello. I ignored them and carried on walking. The person persisted and on the fifth hello I turned to see who it was. The black lady said in a Brummy accent," I was beginning to think you were deaf." She then walked with me and started to ask all sorts of questions about where was I from? why am I in Birmingham? Then," Am I walking with you, or wasting my time ?" I said," Pardon?" She repeated the question then said," do you want a blowjob, or some nice sex?" I said no thank-you and walked away. All this within the space of ten minutes of waking-up. wtf ? I ignored the police and went back to bed.

Sleeping Ghosts

Went to the Jobcentre, there were no jobs. Caught the bus from Cromer to Norwich. An old work colleague got on. She is retired now and had been walking along the coast for the day as part of a ramblers club.

It was raining hard by the time we had reached Norwich bus station, so I headed straight for the Forum for coffee. Inside the forum there was someone else from my past also. A girl who was on the same photography course many years ago. After coffee I walked to the Oriental Arts' centre where I could relax with an orange juice from the bar and read the paper.

According to the Guardian newspaper today, digital exclusion has become such a problem that Gordon Brown has provided a minister to set things straight. The Welsh Secretary, Paul Murphy met for the first time with his 'digital inclusion committee' last week. The percentage of excluded individuals has remained around the one thirds mark.

I had a good Budo lesson and much fun was had. One thing, it seems most of the others at the class also study Iaido. They all own good Japanese swords, which of course can't be obtained or bought within England any longer. Therefore England sucks arse !!!

I'm not sure if it's true but I heard that my Lowestoft Budo Sensei has moved on to a different style..a Russian martial art. So I guess he's no longer there anymore.

Expensive Workout

James was my driver into Norwich today. I didn't recognise him at first because of his bus driver's uniform.

Met Tom along the way to the Buddhist centre. I told him about not being able to find anyone to write me a reference for my course application. He told me he might be able to help. It's a big problem for me. I never stay in touch with people and when it comes to recommendations or applications I'm screwed. I believe in Japan being recommended to people is important. If you are introduced to someone the person introducing is giving their endorsement that you are ok to do business with.

One of the order members suggested that I go live and work at the retreat centre.

After I done my bit at the centre I purchased return train tickets to Birmingham for the weekend at 65 UK pounds. It's not something I can really afford, but I'm going no matter what. This weekend will be the underground computer security conference 'Brumcon.' It should be better this year because a group of german hackers will be attending from the 'Chaos Computer Club.'

I spent a further 4 pounds for a bus to the University and back. And then more money for the Gym. Though it was all more money than I should spend it was good to be doing some exercise. On the bus back into the city centre, the driver had a shouting match with another road user. He got-out of his seat and opening the car driver's door shouted and then slammed it shut. Getting back into his cockpit the car driver got out and had a go !!

Unfit for Duty

Woke up late today and when I finally made it outside there was light rain. By the time I had walked into town the rain was hammering down, I had to hide in a phone box while I waited for the bus.

I had lots of time to kill in the city. Walking around I was only shouted at twice by two *cough* ladies on two separate occasions both calling me a wanker... one was silenced when a policeman appeared on a bicycle. The other, walking out of Mc Donalds and bumping into me managed to drop her drink on the floor. I'm sorry but I don't give a fuck about them.

Also while I killed time. Some bloke stopped me and explained his story. He has just come from Nottingham to see his girlfriend who he found cheating on him. He then went on to explain that he's just been released from the police station for beating the crap out of someone. As proof he showed me his jeans saying, " look, I've still got the gizzas blood all over my jeans." He wanted two pounds off of me so that he could get to North Walsham and pick his car-up.

In the coffee shop I read in the paper about a streaming website that you can stream to from your mobile phone's camera. Eventually if your channel becomes popular and professionally made you may make some advertising revenue off of it WorldTV

I was feeling hungry, I thought I had better eat if I was going to do training. I ended-up at the City Gate pub. Not much has changed here since my last visit. Except there's now a stage. While I drank my orange juice and ate my chips the band warmed-up. I sat eating my chips whilst having to listen to the song 'Hotel California.' I wished I was dead.

I made it to Budo training at the OAC where there were about twelve others. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. It wasn't much of a shock to find-out just how unfit I've become. After training everyone went to the bar. I was invited but I had to leave to catch my train home.

I keep sending people emails damnit but they aren't receiving them. And I can't get the Bicycle Mark website..what the fuck is going on..GGGRRRRRRRRRrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!

DF'ing

Mark picked me up to goto Narc. He had a friend with him who also holds a advanced amateur license.

James has been living away for awhile in Manchester. I think it was because he'd been doing a Finance degree at University. James is also a bus driver and works with Mark. At the club David the chairman gave a presentation about DFing 'Direction finding' contests. Some equipment was shown and stories told of last years competition. Last year they had the beacon on a boat, supposedly this caused some problems because of the signal interference with the water making it hard to locate. It's always funny when they hand around large directional Yagi antennas because of the possibility of someones eye being poked-out...Hahahah Nice.

David has had some kits made for the competition in June. What's good about this is that DF'ing can be done with just a receiver..no TX needed... Allegedly you're not meant to call it fox hunting anymore..but because of that reason alone I want to keep saying it out loud and as often as possible.

Moo BahhhHHH !!!

I scrapped my car today. Though I know there was no reason for keeping it; it wasn't in any fit condition for the road. I remembered all of the trips I took down to Newquay surfing, to Blackpool for conferences and the Isle of Wight visiting relatives. The times at the local beach after a surf session, resting in the sun, feet-up on the dash.

The other day I made some enquires about a 'Electronic Engineers' position in Great Yarmouth. The woman from the agency said she would obtain my details from their Norwich branch and phone me back. Unsurprisingly I haven't heard anything.

After taking a different route to the Buddhist Centre avoiding Jonathan's trap to prevent me from getting there. I cleaned and dusted the shrine room. During tea we spoke to Tom about his canvassing in the local elections.

I happened to look at the Oriental Arts Centre website and noticed they run a Bujinken Taijutsu class on Thursdays. As I hadn't much to do I walked to the OAS but it was locked. I wish I could make it to Lowestoft and train with my old sensei but it's too far away. When I went to Lowestoft College last week I looked to see if the old training hall was still there, it was, but just barely, the windows were boarded-up and it looked in need of some repair.

I enquired in the 'Learning Shop' to finally try find-out what the code for the course I'm applying for is. Without telling anyone UCAS have seperated the course into three subjects.
  • 1. Business in Information Technology
  • 2. Computer End Users
  • 3. Software Engineering

  • I will be applying to do the Software Engineer's course.

I walked back through the housing estates, back to mile cross. I looked in a motorbike shop. There's nobody in Norfolk that rents out motorcycles. Why not ?

I then waited at a bus stop for about an hour for the right bus to arrive. It had to be a Sander's bus because I had a Sander's return ticket and the other buses all terminate in Sheringham.

The bus ride home was better than usual. Because of the over 60's now receiving there International free bus pass I think there's more of them making use of the bus service that you wouldn't see normally. Today was fairly warm and the smell from the oil seed rape in the fields though not a pleasant smell made me feel happier than usual.

    Broken britain

I can't believe I've seen a BNP part political broadcast aired by the BBC. In the past I have read that television channels have re-editted BNP broadcasts because of the fact that their hateful views were not fit for public consumption. The transmission stated the BNP policy on immigration as," Britain is full-up, it's time to shut the door for good !!"

If I was Eighty years Younger..

The new 2600 was in Borders. So I have bought that. I think from counting the last issues I'm the only person buying it. And even then, I'm not sure why ?

On the way to the 'Buddhist centre' I bumped into Jonathan. He was sitting outside the coffee shop on Gentlemen's Walk. Johnathan hasn't been around for awhile. he explained that he'd been away in Berlin and Lubeck. Apparently he had been staying with an old friend who is now married with children, and that, things had gone wrong, as his friend's wife wouldn't let him stay. We spoke about how people change when they take on extra responsibility etc..marriage. On a good note he showed me a photo of his new young boyfriend he met in Lubeck. He's has now decided to move to Lubeck and live. The highlight of our conversation was when Johnathan announced in a loud clear voice, " there's a porn shop on every corner." he then went on to show me the postcard he was writting to his boyfriend, which was of two naked men.

I left Jonathan to go to his meditation class. I walked a couple of miles to the University. On campus I bumped into another person from the 'Buddhist Centre.' I couldn't remember his name as we have only seen each other twice. He was on a lunch break from his part-time course he had been sent on, involving his work as a social worker. We sat outside the music school which was pleasant because of a woman practising her flute ( free live music :) I managed to quiz him on his work and on a science degree he had done. We also spent a good hour discussing Meditation and jobs that are ethical.

After finding the correct department for science I made some enquires about a computer degree. I was asked if I minded waiting in a small cupboard for someone to speak to. After waiting for a couple of minutes, having read all the posters; unfortunately the person I was waiting for was too busy.

I walked back to the city eating cashew nuts and drinking red bull. Bought a book on PHP,Apache and mysql. Then waiting for the bus home my old history teacher from way back appeared. It's hard to tell if he recognised an old pupil from 18 years ago with a full beard; he looked no different, and as I remember he was a fantastic teacher that also taught me to row. I didn't fancy explaining to him what I've done with my life, think I would rather have thrown myself in front of the bus than do that.

At home I installed Apache and Mysql. After getting a working server up I played with some php scripts.

    Greetings from a Dead Man...

I got up, had a shower, looked outside. Went to the ATM in town, became very angry. Punched a lamp post. Walked around for a bit. Picked the skin off my knuckles. Played second life. Spoke to some nice people. read a funny email. Went back to bed. Watched 'century of the Self' on google video, by Adam Curtis.

    Tuesday, April 08, 2008

This morning there was ice on the road, but I'm getting use to the varying temperatures we are having. I continue to listen to 'Deutsch Plus' on my Ipod.

Now every time I'm going to the buddhist centre I'm telling myself not to spend two hours talking crap to people, and possibly, keep my mouth shut. This is proving to be difficult. Something takes over, and I can't help but say the most stupid rubbish and it's more from a point of my feeling, ' I'm going to tell you if you like it or not.' Still, you've got to laugh !!!

After cleaning at the centre, I distributed some leaflets, and then, drank coffee whilst reading my new book ' Cisco Routing Protocols.'

The 'Learning Shop' in the Forum seemed to be closed for staff training. So instead I walked to Norwich City College, and see if they could give me advice about doing a degree in computer science. The college had an information centre, and inside a lady talked me through the options open to me. It seems I might either do one year in connection with University of East Anglia and City college which is more tailored towards business and e-commerce. Or, one year foundation course in science.

I bought some cheap noodles off the market and some hot chilli Japanese crispy seaweed. Which was fucking expensive !!! Inside the Chinese shop I was the only white person, I couldn't understand a word of what was being said, which I kinda liked...Hahah I'm special...

    Friday, April 04, 2008

Today I learnt many things. I watched a whole series of basic Japanese on Vaoh. I then watched some stuff on programming and downloaded 'xampp' which is a kind of lazy mans setup for developing PHP. I liked it very much because I'm very lazy, it takes no configuration to setup...just install it. But, I guess it opens a few security holes if left unconfigured. I listened to this weeks 'Off The Wall.' It was one of the funniest things I've heard in awhile. Eric gave a fantastic performance...

Tony Benn's Five Questions for People in Power...

    • What Power have you got ?

    • Where did you get your Power ?

    • In Whos Interest do you Exercise it ?

    • To whom are you Accountable ?

    • How can We get Rid of you ?

I f you can't get rid of the people that govern you, you're not living in a democratic system.

    Weaponized Wapanese

Today I visited Cromer Lifeboat. They were showing an interesting documentary on the construction and testing of the boat. I was really just killing time before I signed at the jobcentre. At the jobcentre there was two positions I was interested in.

One as a trainee Locksmith and the other...
" Previous experience in a similar role essential. Must have completed a recognised apprenticeship, must have full valid driving licence and experience of working with light machine guns, small arms and grenade launchers."

Today was a warm day and people were in their summer clothing. I watched the sea muttering to myself and listening to a German Language CD on my Ipod.

All of the BBC Japanese Language programmes may now be found by searching Veoh.com with the search term bigm000. Notice those 000 are numeric zeros.

    Love Shack baby !!!

Spent the day with the rest of the candidates for the 'Foundation Amateur Radio License.' After some revision we completed practical tests in ....Morse code, Radio shack setup, and making our first contacts using VHF and HF. Also some simple tests on tuning a radio to 20 Meter CX , PSK31 and RTTY. RTTY and SSTV look to be an interesting area to explore.

After all the practical tests, we set a formal multi-choice exam of 24 questions. Thankfully I passed and will now apply for my foundation user, callsign. I could have done better, but I'm happy enough with my results. I must say thank-you to all the Narc tutors for their help. Their time and knowledge they give for free.

    Time for Stormy Weather

There has been storm warnings all over the news_I spent the day learning morse. Outside in the garden things were a mess. My dads shed door has been blown off its hinges. My parent have been lucky enough to escape the weather and gone to their apartment in Portugal, for three weeks.

    CQ, CQ, CQ.....

Simon arrived 7:30 this morning. Today I begin my Foundation Amateur Radio Licence. I showed Simon a shortcut to Great Ellingham. Despite the fact that I spent most of my life growing-up near this area, I totally forgot the difference between Hingham and Ellingham. No real problem. A call came in on Simon's radio shack from Rex the other instructor to confirm his position. We arrived ahead of everyone else.

Simons main line of work is as a crab fisherman at Blakeney. Because of the weather he hasn't been able to fish. I think he said during this down time he's been repairing the boat. What he hadn't told me before is that he has done a computer science degree, and he use to code COBOL. Why would he tell people this ? I guess it wouldn't mean much to most people, but for me ... I was well impressed.

David the chairman has his own company that makes data-loggers for schools. Narc is lucky in that David lets members use his facilities for training. He has a real cool building built next to his house with meeting room and a set-up for projector+white board.

After some coffee, Rex and David gave a short welcome and the course began. There was twelve of us including instructors. There was two younger members one being about 14 or 13 maybe older...and another with his father aged eleven. My god this eleven year old was so switched on. Each person around the room introduced themselves and Charlie the eleven year old boy was no exception : ) and very sure of himself.

We had a great time talking about radio and looking at aerials / antenna...

    It's Not Brighton Rock...

It was a nice day. I didn't want to waste it, and just stay indoors. I have been thinking a lot about visiting Brighton. Maybe I will when it gets warmer. Instead I took the bus to Sheringham. There's a coffee shop in Sheringham that I use, but haven't been to, in a long while. I never hold much confidence that they remember me, but they usually will ask me if I'm allright.

I ordered a tuna sandwich and coffee; and sat down to watch people pass in the street. The coffee shop is very vibrant and makes me think I'm on the set for the Australian Tv program 'Home and Away.' All the walls have mirrors to make the room seem larger, and you can't help look at yourself and the other customers.

After a walk along the seafront and a visit to the health food shop (damn someone has already given them hundreds of Buddhist leaflets :) I made my way home safe in the knowledge that no work was done today. The bus stopped in the local school to pickup loads of school kids...wtf. The kids use the term 'publicans' for other passengers. I think I might have to email their headmaster and tell them the pupils don't know what a publican is ...MWAHAHAH!!! ...maybe not.

    Carl Sanders

Whilst walking the streets of Norwich looking for Job agencies, I was stopped by a guy who handed me some leaflets detailling his view on the state of the world today. Of course, he was a 'born again chhristian. The leaflets contained information about implants and barcodes and the odd quotation from the bible. I don't think he was use to someone actually taking the time to listen to him. At one point he pulled-out a handful of Euro coins. Pointing at the back of the coin he said something about," look at the horns."

I had to be in Cromer to attend a meeting to see why I haven't got a job yet. before the interview I went for a walk on the beach.

    zyouzudesune

Spent the last couple of days curling-up and waiting to die. I prescribed myself cake and the group 'Underworld.' Travelled on the bus into Norwich. In Norwich I looked in bins for my new employer. After finding no clues for work I walked from the city to Norwich Airport for the Norwich Amateur Radio Club.

People at the club had brought old equipment to sell. I met Simon, the guy that usually gives me a lift. Simon had done a spot of impulse buying and had bought himself a power supply. After some chat and browsing David the chairman read-out some notices. There's some good stuff to be looking forward to in the near future. One of which being a visit on Friday to a bunker to hear about Norwich's RAYNET. Simon kindly gave me a lift home. Sunday i will begin my 'Foundation Amateur Radio Licence.'

    LM Hashes

Having good rainbow tables is essential for any good hacker / pen tester. A rainbow table for cracking local machine hashes that include every possible character should be around 32GB in size. Average crack time being 53 minutes.

You can either buy or build your own rainbow tables or download from bitTorrent. Rainbow tables are created using the program 'rtgen' or for windows 'winrtgen.'

BitTorrent tables maybe obtained for free at www.freerainbowtables.com
Rainbowtables can be bought on removable media or preloaded hard drives.
You can pay for a subscription to Rainbow-crack online Which seems to be offline at time of writting.

    So Long_

I've spent the day thinking about how when you look at photos of yourself in different stages of your life; how much of the person you are looking at, are you today ?

I brought into mind all of the people I have known in the past. I wish I could talk to them now. Thinking about the different paths we all take, and what holds our present situation and values. If I was to meet my good friends from when I was growing up I suspect we would have grown too old. It's funny to imagine them still existing some where; yet, so different from how I remember them.

I found out somebody from my past died Tuesday

    Kill a Hippie

Went into town to buy cake. It was a bright sunny day, so I decided to do some field walking. I haven't actively trespassed for a long time. It started out as a wonder around spout hill.. then I decided to cross a few fields. and through a wood... In the wood there was evidence of kids playing..a rope swing..After testing the swing I continued to a field with horses in. A sign said Footpath so I crossed the field of horses and continued on. The country view was very good, though I was still close to a main country road. And could hear the traffic.

Met with Mark and Simon to go to N.a.r.c.Tonight was members construction contest. There was five entries. All members were given a mark sheet. Marks were awarded on the quality of project construction. After each person gave an outline of their project the judging began. Most interesting I found was the recreation of a crystal set used by the Dutch resistance in WW_2 .

    Book Look Took!!

Despite getting up in time this morning, I ran to catch the bus. the reason being, I had to move my old car from our driveway. It wouldn't start, I finally managed to give it a bump start.

Did cleaning at the Buddhist centre. There's a social meeting they have every last Friday of the month. I was asked if I would like to go. Although it's never a good choice for me to go to pubs socially, and because the people going are mostly Buddhists, I might actually go.

Bought a book on Solaris 8 from Oxfam for two UK pounds. Though the book was published in 2001, and is out of date. It will still be a good read.

Oh yeah, and what was the bad thing!! hmmmm...

WTF.. it's one in the morning and the whole house has shaken... the bed I was in shoke backwards and fowards it was like a minor earthquake. I can't make sense of it, could it have been a low flying aircraft : /

    EEG'd

Spent the day pushing Buddhist centre posters and leaflets on people in and around Holt.

Also went to some Second Life tutorials on scripting and buying land.

Last Friday I was asking people at the Buddhist centre about measuring Brainwaves. Thanks to Padmadaka who gave me contact details of someone who has studied this 'Ratnaprabma.'

Haven't emailed him yet, but will do soon.

I re-watched Mitch Altman's talk about his brain machine given at last years CCC camp.

    Opera House

Spent the day on Second Life, bumped into Boldy. He and I went to watch some Second Life live music at the Opera House. OMFG, they were called UKD. You get to hear the band who are all in different locations on their computers, and playing into microphones ... think Skype...a virtual stage, and avatars seated or dancing. The sound was like a holiday camp. I thought it was fucking hilarious, but, I had a sneaky suspicion Boldy was enjoying it ...hehe

The worst thing they played was a cover of 'The Cures_Love Song.' With a reggae beat WTF!!!

we were slightly out of place. We both wore Anarchy T-shirts. I was dressed as a black Wolf. Boldy with his Black Cowboy hat...

    So Cold

I realise that my English skills aren't as good as they could be. And as a result sometimes, more through being lazy; things get worded in a way that I didn't really intend, and may sound wrong. Though it's really just me reading this blog and a few others, I try to remain honest and uncensored. If you feel I've written something incorrect then please feel free to email me or leave a comment. The comments are unmoderated.

Nearly slipped on that damn path outside the house again... There was frost early this morning. Spent the day helping at the centre again. Cleaning the kitchen drinking tea and listening to good people.

I tried looking for some flared jeans like the ones I'm wearing in Second Life. There were boot fit jeans, and in a specialist Goth type shop, flares twice the size of my waist. Ohh, to live in the Seventies with my VW Beetle.

I confess to buy a new book today. I had to it was the Second Life Official Guide. Somebody slap me.

    Free Cheers !!!

I was determined to play Second Life today and come away with a positive experience. Luckily enough I met Mio. Mio is a Japanese Lady living in Italy. I took her to ALT7 one of my favourite places in Second Life. We chatted whilst dancing to indie music. It really pays to speak to good people. Hopefully I will see her again. errrr.... in the virtual world that is. : )

Look who's squatting on Jono Bacon

2007-09-07 (Permalink): So, for some reason, I was using advogato and, for some reason, I was looking at jono and, for some reason, I clicked on the link to the JonoCam. What I saw was unpleasant and not what I was expecting.

Someone's squatting on the JonoCam address, hiding behind eNom's privacy service. In fact, it looks like all of kdedevelopers.net is spam now, including jono.kdedevelopers.net.

Not only that, but http://www.jonobacon.co.uk/ is squatted too, by futuregate aka Mindcom Internet Limited of 20 Meridian Way, Meridian Business Park, Norwich NR7 0TA. If you're reading this from near Norwich, would you post some pictures of the home of these serial domain-squatters, please?

So I hopped onto the lugradio IRC and asked jono. Apparently he lost it ages ago(!) nominet says the domain was registered in 2004 and last updated April 2007, so I didn't know if that means it's been a while, or just a few months. Does the registration date change if an owner loses control? astinus told me that it does.

    Chitta Chatter

Two of my favourite Kanji are the pictograph for 'Beautiful' and 'Erotic'. They are quite strange to me. Beautiful is represented using Kanji for 'Big' and 'Sheep'.....'Big Sheep.'

The word 'erotic' is even better according to my little book it's a pictograph of a man on a roof, peeping into a window. LMAO.

Thought it would be a good idea to have an apple before meditation today. It is definitely the wrong thing to do. I arrived just in time for the others to be doing that thing they do with their hands at the shrine. I wasn't really ready to begin, but did so anyway. While Vajra Gupta was speaking I started to choke on some flem and had to leave to clear my throat. The apple made me produce more saliva and made things uncomfortable. Also, I hadn't knelt properly and by the end I couldn't feel my left foot. I was sure it was dislocated or something was definitely wrong with it. After some tea I took the cups into the kitchen where a Lady called Cathy was taking a break from reception. I managed to find-out that she had her own Gardening business. She was friendly even though she was cornered and kinda obliged to talk to me :)

I wrote some internet links down and handed them to Tom to look at. They were mostly to do with E-voting. Norfolk has recently been experimenting with Electronic Voting Systems despite the obvious problems they bring. After telling Tom I would see him Tuesday Jonathan and I left to eat lunch. I suggested the 'Greenhouse' to go eat, but Jonathan wanted to go to 'Wagamamas.' I get the idea he tries to avoid the Greenhouse. Maybe there are people he doesn't want to see.

Jonathan use to work in the theatre, and has also studied German Literature at the UEA. He constantly smokes and wherever you go he will knows someone there. Firstly we went shopping. He bought a book token as a gift for a wedding he was attending. A new pair of shoes. Some moisturiser from 'Superdrug.' What was strange was that I noticed he used a basket for the one item in Superdrug. He later explain that he use to have a shoplifting habit taking frozen chickens when he lived in London, and now he uses the basket because it's wiser. I myself, feel the cameras watching me every shop I visit. I believe it's possible to sense when someone watches you. I have this feeling sometimes and turn to see a camera there. It must be hard for people if they are suffering mental illness. Shopping is very stressful nowadays even if you're allegedly one of the sane people.

Wagamamas I'm afraid was so bad, but Jonathan was paying so I shouldn't complain. I ordered seafood Ramen and it tasted of seawater and the tea was like warm tap water. Noticing I was struggling with the Ramen Jonathan asked if he could have one of the prawns and stuck his fingers into the bowl saying, " excuse my fingers." WTF!!! He knew some guy behind the counter, and kept looking at him. I guess this was the reason why he wanted to come here. The guy he was watching came over and they kissed hello. John spoke about how starting a gay club in Norwich would be a good idea, and about all his old boyfriends. After John paid he left to get ready for a party he was going to.

Fuck!! The 2nd Edition to Grey Hat Hacking and Art of Exploitation books are out. After some thought I had to buy the Grey Hat Hacking book. They are expensive and only slightly different to the first editions.

Unsurprisingly I did something stupid on the way home. Like Jonathon kissing, I probably shouldn't have mentioned it. Waiting for the bus home I drank a bottle of water. I already had the need to go to the loo. The double decker bus moved slowly through the rush hour traffic. I only made it as far as St Faiths just outside Norwich. I kept weighing-up the choice between; getting off and waiting for another bus and paying my fare again. Or agony for an hour or piss myself on the bus to save three quid fare. It was dark so I got off and peed in a field. I then ran for a mile back to the next proper bus stop. Running past the crematorium there was a sweet smell of roses. I just made it to the next bus stop in time to catch the next bus.
    HooRahHH !!!

At home I bought Chinese takeaway.

    Making Mambo

Didn't sleep last night. I watched the BBC Chinese language programs. The morning was cold with slight ice on the road. The dawn chorus was good.

Waiting for the Forum to open I stood watching people clearing the streets of rubbish. There was light mist adding mood to the scene. After coffee I went to the Budhist Centre. Tom who I met last Friday welcomed me and introduced me to everybody else. I helped by cleaning their kitchen and scrubbing windows and walls at the entrance of the building. I wasn't sure if I was much use but it was good to be doing something at least. I quizzed Tom on what it meant to be a city councillor. He told me that he had attended a meeting yesterday about the need for more social housing.

After cleaning we sat down for tea and chat. People mainly spoke about how they find themselves busy all the time. I'm not living in the real world... I know this. I then spent most of the day walking the streets asking people if I could put a Budhist Centre poster in their shop window. I walked all of Anglia Square and most of Earlham and Unthank. I was surprised to discover the art school has a student bar, I never even knew it existed.

After lots of walking I went to eat noodles and drink more coffee. Back home I decided not to go to UES as it would involve more walking and I was a little tired.

    2240

Against better judegment I joined an agency today. They say there's going to be a new contract working with PCB's. I gave the guy my CV and he photocopied my passport. No interview; just we will be in touch. I got the idea I won't be hearing from them anytime soon. Not really a positive move in the right direction, just a move.

I googled Tokyo 2600 today and got this web page.... The Poor Guy!!

    Andy Kaufman

I've heard it said that eating lots of cheese before bedtime gives you nightmares. Last night I began my investigation into this phenomena, starting with Brie. By morning I was able to recall two dreams. First dream was walking a country road while calling someone on my mobile to come collect me. The person I called was in another country and unlikely to arrive in time. The last dream was tucking my sleeves into a pair of gloves just before clearing a dead body from the 'London Tavern pub in Attleborough. Inside there were lots of flies that I individually picked and placed inside a purse.

This morning my mother and I travelled the number 44 bus into Norwich she was off to meet a friend. My mothers friend is liked by everyone. She's well known for helping people particularly the elderly. It's sad to hear that she is suffering with atheritis and isn't able to walk for long periods of time.

Meditation at the budhist centre began with a talk about the five basic precepts. The actual meditation I think went well...although the lady facilitating the session half way through said, " where is your mind now ?" I think I understood the point she was trying to make. The time meditating seemed longer that usual. At the end she asked if we felt relieved that the meditation time had ended. I felt that because there was more time it distracted my concentration and I didn't change my pattern of breathing well.

Somebody purposefully befriended me after the session was over. I've recognised this guy's face from somewhere and it's been bugging me ever since I first saw him. He said he had something to do with the Greenparty. I think he said he was a councillor. I introduced into our conversation the subject of Second Life. He hadn't heard of Second Life before and I tried to explain it to him. I joked about how long I've been spending in world. And the fact that sometimes I get confused between RL / SL. He didn't laugh and I think he thought I was being serious. Anyway he's asked if I wanted to help at the centre.

After trying to help with a problem he was having with Outlook Express I agreed to meet him next Tuesday to go put some posters up.

After a great vegetarian meal at the Greenhouse I got the bus home. No point in waiting to see if anyone turned-up for 2600.

I like to think I haven't gone insane ....just very bored!!!

    Hustler HF

Attended the weekly Norwich Amateur Radio meet. One of the members 'G0KYA' gave a talk on HF DX'ing from a small (or no) garden. Embedded into his pwerpoint presentation were sound clips highlighting the difference in antenna performance. The guy stated that he had spent alot of money for his equipment ( just under a 'grand for one antenna and three hundred for another :/ eeeEEck!!!. He concluded with a set-up he had built in his loft 'KKA Multiband Dipole.' The talk was far more comprehensive than I have outlined here and as a newbie I was happy that I was able to understand most of what was said.

The club has organised a visit to a place in Holt 'UES&S'. I don't think I will be going.
